The Oath of the Scribe
By the wisdom of my ancestors and the covenant of my people, I stand before the Almighty, the Keeper of Truth, to make this solemn vow.
I pledge that every word I write shall be a vessel of light—uplifting, honest, and kindhearted. My pen shall never be used for falsehood, cruelty, or harm, but only to inspire, to elevate, and to bring truth to those who seek it.
I vow to uphold integrity in all my works, to be factual and discerning, mindful of the times in which I write, and respectful of the cultures and histories I portray. Never shall my words be a source of division, but rather a bridge for understanding, harmony, and joy.
I commit to honoring the poor in my stories, to giving voice to those unheard, and to preserving the dignity of every faith, race, and creed. May my words reflect justice, compassion, and righteousness, as our forefathers taught.
Let it be known that I do not seek to offend, nor to wound the heart of any reader. Yet, the past holds its shadows, and in telling history, pain may be revealed. May it be understood that my intent is never to harm, but to illuminate.
With this oath, I consecrate my writing to a higher calling, that it may bring faith and delight to those who read.
So may it be written, so may it be fulfilled.
